Police say Carl Mott fatally stabbed the husband of a woman he was involved with during a confrontation at a bus stop. According to investigators, Mott attacked the victim, Michael Bowman, during the encounter, inflicting wounds that proved fatal. Authorities said the violent confrontation stemmed from a relationship dispute involving Bowman’s wife. After the stabbing, prosecutors said Mott attempted to dispose of the weapon by throwing the knife into nearby bushes. Investigators later recovered the knife near Mott’s own workplace. Evidence presented in court linked the weapon and the attack to the suspect. A jury ultimately convicted Mott of murder as well as tampering with evidence for attempting to discard the knife. He was later sentenced to 70 years in prison for the killing.
